2 months agoTo the woman who looked like wesley snipes from the simpsons Subject: Feedback on Recent Gym Experience I wanted to take a moment to share my experience during my recent visit to your gym. Kit was fantastic, and I truly appreciate their assistance! However, I encountered a situation that was quite uncomfortable. While I was working out, another associate of African-American descent approached me with a question, which I found to be unprofessional since it occurred while I was using equipment. Typically, such inquiries are made at the front desk. Unfortunately, this associate was also quite rude, and it left me feeling uneasy, especially since I had never met her before. I believe it's important for all team members to exemplify strong customer service skills, much like Kit did. Thank you for considering this feedback; I hope it helps improve the experience for future guests. Best regards.

7 months agoEllis is truly my home away from home! The instructors are absolutely fantastic, and the staff always greets you with a warm smile. I just love the sense of community here; it makes every visit special! Plus, I heard theyβre bringing in all brand-new cardio equipment, and I canβt wait to try it out! Itβs going to make my workouts even better

11 months agoBUYER BE AWARE Where Ellis Athletic falls drastically short is their cancellation / membership management policies which I will outline below as they are somewhat ridiculous. This needs to be addressed as I was sent to collections for this. 1. $100 early termination fee- this fee will be assessed if you cancel you membership within one year of joining the gym (WHAT THE?????) 2. Billing changes & cancellations- billing changes require 30 days written notice. For example, let's say you pay your gym membership on the 10th of every month. If you paid your gym membership on 4/10 and went in to cancel on 4/11, based on the contract you would need to wait 30 days from that date. So even though you effectively cancelled your membership on 4/11, you would still need to pay on 5/10. They do this to eek out one extra payment. I signed up over two years ago and when I went to cancel the person who handled my cancellation did not disclose this. I was told it's my responsibility to remember that when I went in to talk this through with staff. As mentioned I was sent to collections for this to a company called Twin Oaks. The gym's negligence caused this.

a year agoI advise anybody who is reading this review to go over the other reviews regarding the contract. Nothing is wrong with the facility or what so ever, it is the contract you would sign up for to go into the gym. When I was signing up, the manager specified that I would have to pay a $100 cancellation fee if I cancel less than a year. Understandable and I would honor that deal, however they failed to mention that if I wanted to cancel the contract (due to the person who signed up for it is moving to another state), they would require you to show PROOF of the moving address in order to cancel the membership. The person who is going to the gym, no longer goes to the gym, they're moving to another state and wants to cancel. That's reasonable answer enough right? No, you need documents of your new address in order for you to cancel. Right now they're charging me monthly (which is not cheap) until I get that information. At this point you're better off signing off to another gym that lets you cancel on the spot instead of showing personal information in order for you to cancel your membership with them.

2 years agoGreat gym to work out at with lots to choose from. I never have to wait long for any equipment. Staff and other members are friendly. I'm big on clean locker rooms. The facility is well kept. Good local gym without the overwhelming corporate look and feel. The community is nice and feels safe at any hour. It's tucked away in Newton Square's Ellis Preserve.
