Frequently Asked Questions
Everything parents need to know about finding kids activities on the Main Line.
What is Main Line Activities?
Main Line Activities is a free directory of kids programs, classes, camps, and activities across the Philadelphia Main Line and nearby suburbs — including Wayne, Berwyn, Ardmore, Bryn Mawr, Paoli, Narberth, Haverford, Malvern, Exton, and more. Our goal is to make it easy for parents to discover what's available for their children without having to search dozens of individual websites.
What towns and neighborhoods are covered?
We cover the R5 corridor and surrounding communities: Ardmore, Wynnewood, Narberth, Merion, Bala Cynwyd, Haverford, Bryn Mawr, Villanova, Radnor, Wayne, Devon, Berwyn, Paoli, Malvern, Exton, Conshohocken, Gladwyne, and Newtown Square. We're continually adding programs from nearby areas including West Chester, Phoenixville, and other Chester and Delaware County towns.
How do I find programs for my child?
You can browse by category (sports, arts, STEM, music, dance, outdoor, academic) or by town. You can also use the search bar to find programs by name or keyword. On the programs page you can filter by age range, category, and whether a program is recurring or a one-time event.
Are all age groups covered?
Yes — we list programs for toddlers, preschoolers, elementary, middle, and high school students. Most programs include a minimum and maximum age or grade range. Use the age filter on the programs page to narrow results to your child's age.
How much do the programs cost?
Costs vary widely by program — from free library story times to paid private lessons and summer camps. Where available we display pricing information on each program's detail page. Many municipal recreation programs and library events are free or low-cost. Always check directly with the provider for the most current pricing.
How current and accurate is the information?
We pull data from provider websites, township recreation departments, YMCAs, libraries, and community sources regularly. That said, program schedules and availability change — especially for seasonal camps. We recommend confirming details directly with the provider before registering. If you spot outdated or incorrect information, please use the "Add a program" link to submit a correction.
How do reviews work?
Any parent or guardian can leave a star rating and optional comment on any program. Reviews are not verified against enrollment records, so they represent community opinions. We also show Google Maps ratings for providers where available. We reserve the right to remove reviews that appear fake or abusive.
How do I add or update a program listing?
Use the "Add a program" link in the footer or navigate to mainlineactivities.com/add. Fill in the details and we'll review and publish it. If you're a provider and need to update an existing listing, use the same form and note that it's a correction.
Is Main Line Activities affiliated with any providers or programs?
No — we are an independent directory. We do not receive compensation from listed providers, and listings are not paid placements. Our goal is to be the most comprehensive, unbiased resource for Main Line families.
What types of activities are listed?
We cover a wide range: youth sports leagues and clinics, swim lessons, gymnastics, dance studios, art classes, STEM and robotics programs, music lessons, theater camps, tutoring and academic enrichment, outdoor and nature programs, library story times, summer day camps, and after-school programs.
Can I filter programs by schedule — like weekends only or summer camps?
You can filter by recurring vs. one-time programs using the recurring toggle on the programs page. For summer camps specifically, try searching "summer" or "camp" in the search bar. We're working on adding more granular schedule filtering.
