a year agoBeyond saddened and disappointed by the lack of resources and competency when it comes to caring for children with IEP’s and Special Needs from the Greater Philadelphia YMCA program. They’re needs to either be a dedicated subsite for these children or more stringent accommodations and hiring processes for “Role Models”. My son was FAILED by this program and it’s inexcusable.

2 years agoI already have a bad taste in my mouth about this after school child care program and my daughter hasn't even started yet. The operations are rude and do not care whether your child is in the program or not. There was a lot of back and forth with the school and when I finally got a notification of the start of the program, nothing has been easy in the process. They are NOT flexible, and the customer service SUCKSSSSSS. I wouldn't recommend using YMCA for your needs. Lamirah Coleman is very condescending and unwilling to help in a desperate time of need in regards to getting helpful childcare for working individuals. AND THEN TO TOP IT ALL OFF THE NUMBER THEY LEFT BELOW TO CALL IS NOT A WORKING NUMBER!! HAHAHAAA

2 years agoOn the website, it says the outdoor pool is open on Independence Day. Took my kids to the pool to find the whole place closed, even the streets were closed in the area. I walked around the whole building and there was no sign of life. What a disappointment. Shouldn’t be advertising anything on the website if it’s not going to be honored.

6 years agoI continually press 0 for the receptionist desk and i have yet to have anyone answer the phone nor get back to me Update* i have been waiting since feb 3 for a return payment that the ymca owed me for daycare services at the Phoenixville facility. I was constantly told that the corporate office in Conshohocken was aware of it and would return the payment promptly. Instead of returning the payment like i asked they purposely waited almost a month and contacted me refusing to return the payment stating that it had been long enough and i now owe them money. No one took my concern seriously most of the representatives i spoke with were very short highly rude and spoke to me in a very condescending manner. I basically felt bullied into handling the situation the way the ymca figured was convenient for them . I have never felt so disrespected and so disregarded. There are better day care facilities and gyms maybe this so called non profit isnt so much!!!!!!

7 years agoPhiladelphia Freedom Valley YMCA Association is just a office located in Conshohocken Borough Hall. IF you need information about child care or location of YMCA you call this office. They handle all problems with YMCA locations only or help you find one near you. Their hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm. Check about holidays and for people not familiar with the area their is no gym located here.
