7 months agoOur family has deliberated whether or not to post a review for quite a while now and have decided to share our story in hopes to help others. Our children attended Fairville during the 2024-2025 school year and absolutely adored their teachers and the school. We decided to enroll our children in the summer camp program at the school which is run by the same βHead of School/Directorβ woman. Our child who was 3 at the time was not being watch appropriately by the counselors and went into the building to use the restroom and was found some time later crying in the building alone on the stairs by the director. It was admitted by the staff that they do not know when our child went into the building so they do not know how long she was alone. As a former preschool teacher my wife (and I) understand that incidents happen with children that cannot be avoided, however this certainly could have been and the discussions that followed with the Director aimed to defer blame from the school and program and instead towards my 3 year old for not telling the counselor she was going to the bathroom, not yelling inside the building to get someoneβs attention, and even towards their 3 year old sibling for βfor not noticing her sister was goneβ. The gaslighting that ensued from the Director trying to rewrite the timeline, talk about herself and her parenting style, and the lack of remorse or even clear intent to correct policy to ensure this never happens again lead us to remove our children from the camp and ultimately from the 2025-2026 school year. We were even blamed for not giving them sufficient notice for un-enrolling our children even though this happened in the summer. Our child has had daily nightmares and severe separation anxiety as a result of the trauma she experienced and now our family has had to put her in therapy as a result. This was not a small incident and the lack of regard for her safety and wellbeing after the incident showed the βHead of Schoolsβ true colors and lack of empathy towards her students.
