๐จ Arts for Kids on the Main Line
Most Main Line neighborhoods are a short drive from art studios, community art centers, and township arts programs. The Wayne Art Center and Main Line Art Center in Haverford both offer year-round classes for ages 4 to 17 in drawing, painting, ceramics, printmaking, and mixed media.
Beyond the dedicated art centers, theater and performing arts programs are available through many township rec departments, community theater groups, and after-school programs. Drama-based programs tend to run seasonally with performances at the end of each session.
Private studios and independent teaching artists offer smaller class sizes and specialized instruction in a specific medium. Many programs offer introductory sessions or open houses before you commit to a full semester, which is worth doing because teaching styles vary from one program to the next.
